Growing and Changing

The triplets had their 18-month check-up. Everyone is doing great. Nora and Eva weighed 22 pounds, Parks weighed 23 lbs 5oz. They are all on the charts for weight! They are having so much fun playing and interacting. My favorite new thing is watching them play Ring-Around-The-Rosie together. They are sad when we drop Will off at preschool, and happy when he comes home. All three seem to be getting a little better with their napping. I should have this gig down by the time they start Kindergarden.

Here is a little info about each:

Eva is the most cuddly of the triplets. She will often come up out of the blue and give you a hug. She loves doing puzzles, and is great with colors and shapes. She puts her puzzles together so quickly that if Nora or Parks take too long or make a mistake, she jumps in to help by impatiently pushing them out of the way and finishing it for them.

Nora loves climbing, and "dressing" herself. She loves putting her socks on and taking them off. She also loves to take her pants off and run around without them. On rare occasions she will even put them back on. She has grown tremendously in confidence since she has recently discovered that she is able to climb up on the kitchen table and swing from the light fixture. And...although she has quickly gotten over her fear of strangers, I love that she is still, very much, a Momma's girl.
Parks loves playing ball, and being read to. He is such a such a happy guy. He has started asking for books by name. For Go Dog Go, he will say "GO GO," for Rainbow Rob, "ROB," etc. He is a little chatter box. He loves jumping on furniture and kissing his sisters.
Will is enjoying 4 year old basketball on Saturdays at the YMCA, going to friends birthday parties, and attending preschool three days a week. He continues to crack us up with the funny things he says.
While pretending to play a football game he asked us, "Which team are you cheering for, Green Day, or the Biebers?"
While shopping at Scheels an employee announced over the loud speaker, "Joe Smith, your party is waiting for you by the ferris wheel." Will turned to me and said, "HEY MOM! There is a PARTY at the FERRIS WHEEL!"
Although life is busy, I wouldn't change a thing.

One Year Check-Up (and shots)

The babies had the one year old well baby exams on Friday. Everyone is doing well. The girls are now on the growth chart for weight and continued along their curve for height and head circumference. They are both the same height (18th percentile). Nora weighs 17lbs 15 oz and is in the 5th percentile for weight. Eva weighed three ounces more, 18lbs 2 oz, and is in the 6th percentile for weight. Parks weighs 19 lbs 1 oz (3rd percentile) and was in the 60th percentile for height.

Their little personalities are really shining through. Parks is such a ham. He loves to chatter away to anyone who will have a "conversation" with him. He did all of his tricks at the doctors office......so big, pat-a-cake, barking when asked, "What does a doggie say?" He laughed the entire time he was being weighed and measured because he loves dancing while his diaper is off!

Parksey is the spokesperson for the trio, Nora is the supervisor. She scoots all around pointing and "talking" to Parks, Eva, Will, and even Chloe. She loves the dog so much! She has the most contagious little laugh.

Eva-the-diva is such a little firecracker! She can crawl at lightening fast speeds. She does a great job standing. She pulls herself up on any furniture she can get to. If Parks tries to take her toy she fights right back. In fact, I often have to separate the two to keep them from biting one another! She has such a wonderful belly laugh. It is the sweetest sound!

Will has taken a strong interest in golf. He has a his own junior clubs and golf bag. He begs constantly to go to the golf course or driving range. He knows all the lingo and the players. A few weeks ago he turned to me and said, "I love you Mom........and also I love Phil Mickelson." He has a golf hole and green in the back yard. He convinced a family friend to try to play with him. When they came inside he announced, "She got a double bogey." He also warned her to keep it out of the "bunker" and pointed at the landscaping along the back of the fence.

Will enjoyed playing soccer on Saturdays with his YMCA team. He is now playing tee ball. All four kiddos keep us hopping!

One!

Hard to believe it has been a year.......but the triplets are one! They had a nice little party with lots of delicious cake thanks to Alyssa (although they aren't quite sure how they feel about cake yet).

All three babies are now eating regular people food and drinking cow's milk. Nora favorite foods are mandarin oranges and blueberries. Eva loves peas. Parks loves everything (except cake).

Will enjoyed the benefits of being a "birthday sibling" by getting a few presents for himself from the party goers (lucky boy)!

8 Months Old

The babies had their first TIPS (Tracking Infant Progress Statewide) appointment at Children's Hospital today. This is the first time they had been back since their discharge from the NICU in July. All three did very well. Each baby met with a developmental pediatrician, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, and a even a psychologist (yup, that's right, a psychologist).

The entire process lasted over three hours! The trips loved it. Nora had a bit of "stranger danger" at first, but warmed up quickly as toys were brought out. She loves to play with rattles and enjoyed showing off her ability to pass a rattle from hand to hand.

Parks is our talker and the most social out of the three. He loved all the attention! He enjoyed showing off how well he can sit up, and how quickly he can roll over if placed on his back. He loves to be on his tummy. He will be crawling in no time!

Eva was sweet and smiley. She did not quite know what to make of all the attention. A couple times she found it so overwhelming she broke down in tears, but as soon as Dad swooped her up she was as happy as ever. She is quite the Daddy's girl.

It is so much fun to watch their little personalities develop. Eva adores her big brother Will, Nora loves Chloe the dog, and Parks loves everybody.

Doing Well

Everyone is doing well. The babies have gotten so big. They are four months old now and growing like crazy. Life is a blur, and time seems to be flying by.

We are very thankful for all the help from family and friends. Steve's cousin Alyssa is living with us and helping in every way. We are so blessed to have her here!

Parks was the biggest at the four month old check up. He was 10 lbs 8 oz, and the longest. The girls were both just under 10 lbs. The girls were the same length.

Parks talks and coos the most, Eva is the most smiley, Nora is very sweet and even tempered. All three giggle a lot now.

Will is adjusting well to being a big brother. He is going to pre-school for two hours twice a week. He loves his teacher, Mrs. Miller.

We have been enjoying the fall with many outings. Mommy and Will went to Wenninghoff Farms for Will's school field trip. The whole family went to Gifford Farms for trick-or-treating (Will was a robot, Parks was a skeleton, Eva was a ladybug, and Nora was a kitty). We even made it to Vala's Pumpkin Patch (just Will, Mommy, Daddy and Alyssa).

And of course.......I have added some new pictures!
